Mbappe's Hat Trick Puts PSG in Control

Paris Saint-Germain took a commanding lead in their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Barcelona on Tuesday night. Kylian Mbappe was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick as the French champions cruised to a 4-1 victory at the Camp Nou.
Mbappe opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a clinical finish after being played through by Neymar. He doubled PSG's lead just before half-time with a stunning strike from outside the box.
Lionel Messi pulled one back for Barcelona early in the second half, but Mbappe restored PSG's two-goal lead with another fine finish in the 65th minute. Moise Kean added a fourth for the visitors in the 70th minute to seal the win.
The result leaves PSG in a strong position heading into the second leg at the Parc des Princes on March 10. Barcelona will need to score at least three goals to overturn the deficit and reach the quarterfinals.
Mbappe's hat-trick was his first in the Champions League and made him only the third player to score three goals in a single match against Barcelona in the competition's history. The other two players to achieve the feat are Ferenc Puskas and Thierry Henry.
The French forward has now scored 25 goals in all competitions this season and is one of the favorites to win the Ballon d'Or.
